"To the new beginnings". A few days ago, this was the toast with a group of friends whose lives are changing. Ours did as well.
It was a long process born from the experiences that we had in the last few years that lead us to create a new online and social space which could represent us as the multilayered human beings that we are. It is meant to facilitate communication and exchange with other people, while still working and selling our crafts.
Our jewellery, Gioia's handwoven textiles, Ivano's carved woods, all have a meaningful background born from our stories. Stories that have to be told. While some years ago contemporary art and design had a major role in our production, our experience of nature and time has more recently taken the stage. This is why our hikes will also contribute to this new website.
We believe that like-minded people may meet here and on our Instagram feed and enjoy some good time reading and having a look around. Great if f they are also interested in our jewellery - or in the other crafts that from time to time will be here - and are willing to buy. But great at the same time if they just pop by, write us a few words, send a comment, tell us about their thoughts and hikes, and simply go away.
In the coming months, the blog will grow, and we will begin to send out a newsletter, so we will still have ways to keep in touch.
In some way, together with our Instagram account, this is the mature fruit of years of trial and error attempting to reproduce online what our physical shop in Città della Pieve was: a meeting place.

"Ai nuovi inizi" è stato il brindisi fatto sere fa con alcuni amici le cui vite stanno cambiando. Le nostre erano comprese.
E' stato un lungo processo, nato dalle esperienze fatte negli ultimi anni, che ci ha portato a creare un nuovo spazio online e sui social, che ci rappresenti per gli esseri umani multidimensionali che siamo. Questo sito, e il nostro account Instagram, sono degli strumenti che ci permettono di comunicare e scambiare con gli altri, mentre continuiamo a lavorare e vendere i nostri oggetti.
I nostri gioielli, le sculture in legno di Ivano, i tessuti a mano di Gioia, hanno tutti un background che nasce dalle nostre storie. Storie che devono essere raccontate. Mentre fino a pochi anni fa l'arte contemporanea e il design avevano un ruolo molto importante nella nostra produzione, negli ultimi tempi l'esperienza della natura e del tempo sono diventate dominanti. Per questo, anche le nostre camminate avranno un loro spazio qui.
Pensiamo che persone con modi di pensare e interessi simili possano incontrarsi qui e sul nostro profilo Instagram, dare un'occhiata e passare un po' di tempo a leggere. Bello, se saranno anche interessate ai nostri gioielli e magari anche a comprarli, o agli altri lavori che condivideremo qui di tanto in tanto. Ma bello lo stesso se semplicemente si affacciano, ci scrivono due parole, mandano un commento o un messaggio, ci raccontano un pensiero o una camminata e poi, semplicemente, vanno via.
Nei prossimi mesi il blog crescerà e inizieremo a spedire la nostra newsletter, quindi ci sarà modo di rimanere in contatto comunque.
In qualche modo, insieme al profilo Instagram, questo sito è il frutto maturo di anni di prove ed errori per riprodurre online quello che era il nostro negozio-laboratorio di Città della Pieve: un luogo d'incontro.
